Jerome Moross
Jerome Moross was an American composer known for his work in film and television
scoring. Born on August 1, 1913 in New York City, he began composing music for
the theater early in life. In 1931, Moross met Aaron Copland and began working
on radio shows in 1935. In the 1940s, Moross moved to Hollywood, composing
scores for 16 films from 1948 to 1969. His notable works include The Big Country
(1958), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score,
and music for films such as The Proud Rebel, and The Adventures of Huckleberry
