Jimmy Beasley
James Edward Beasley, also known as Jimmy Beasley, born on September 30, 1931,
in Kansas City, Missouri, is an American rhythm and blues singer, pianist, and
songwriter. He learned piano from Willie Rice and was influenced by Fats Domino.
In 1954, Beasley moved to Los Angeles and joined King Perry's band, recording
for Hollywood Records. His single "Ella Jane" (1956) sold moderately well. He
also recorded under his own name for Peacock and Modern labels, with notable
tracks including "Don't Feel Sorry for Me" and "Little Coquette" in 1956.
