Jimmy Elledge, born James Presley Elledge on 8 January 1943 in Nashville,
Tennessee, was an American country musician. At 18, he sent a demo tape to Chet
Atkins, securing his first recording contract with RCA Victor. His breakthrough
came in 1961 with "Funny How Time Slips Away", written by Willie Nelson and
produced by Chet Atkins. The song peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100
and sold over one million copies, earning a gold certification from the RIAA.
