Jimmy Mundy
James Mundy, also known as Jimmy Mundy, was born on June 28, 1907, in
Cincinnati, Ohio, and was an American saxophonist, arranger, and composer known
for his contributions to jazz. He started his career as a saxophonist with local
bands in the 1920s. His breakthrough came when he joined Earl Hines' band in
1932, initially as a saxophonist but later gaining recognition for his arranging
skills. In 1935, Benny Goodman hired him after purchasing one of his
