James Ray, known professionally as Jimmy Ray, was born on October 3, 1970, in
England. He is a singer who began his music career as part of the techno-pop duo
AV (Alternative Vision) with Graham Drinnan in 1994. The group signed to Sony S2
Records but did not release any recordings before Ray departed from the duo in
1996. Ray's breakthrough came with his debut single "Are You Jimmy Ray?",
released in November 1997, which reached number 13 on both the U.S. Billboard
