Filipino singer-songwriter and musician born on June 1, 1956, in Bukidnon,
Philippines. Ayala started a music career with an album recorded in a makeshift
studio in Davao City in 1982. His music integrates Filipino ethnic instruments
with modern pop elements. His band Bagong Lumad translates to "New Native,"
reflecting a philosophy carried over into the Bagong Lumad Artists Foundation,
