John Allred
John Allred (born 1962 in Rock Island, Illinois) is an American jazz trombonist,
tuba player, euphoniumist, and songwriter. The son of jazz trombonist Bill
Allred, Allred began a professional career with the Jazz Minors at Disneyland
Anaheim after high school. In 1987, Allred joined Woody Herman and the Young
Thundering Herd, performing alongside Stan Getz, Rosemary Clooney, and Clark
Terry. Later based in Orlando, Florida, Allred worked as a studio musician and
recorded the tuba parts for the film My Girl (1991). During this period, he
