John Harrold Craigie III, known as John Craigie, was born on June 15, 1980, in
Los Angeles, California. He is an American singer-songwriter and storyteller. He
attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, and graduated with a degree
in mathematics. While living in Santa Cruz, he began performing in local venues
and house parties, first as lead singer and guitarist in a psychedelic rock band
called “Pond Rock,” then solo as a folk singer-songwriter and storyteller. He
