John Rich

American country singer-songwriter John Rich was born in Amarillo, Texas, on January 7, 1974. After graduating high school, he moved to Nashville and worked as a singer at the Opryland USA theme park before joining the ranks of country music group Lonestar in 1992. He stayed with the band until 1998, after which he formed the country duo Big & Rich with Big Kenny. "I Pray for You," his debut single, appeared in 2000 and was followed by the release of his first studio album Rescue Me (2001), which was largely inspired by an encounter with a cancer patient named Katie Darnell.
