Joochar
Real name Kouakou Jonathan Charley, Ivorian rapper Joochar was born in Abidjan
on November 15, 1990, to a journalist father and a schoolteacher mother. As a
child, he discovered his artistic vocation, joining a theater troupe and then a
choir. He was only fifteen when he wrote his first lyrics, which he defended in
local rap competitions. In 2009, he met another rapper, El Jay, with whom he
founded the group Jek Boyz, before joining the group Kiff No Beat, which in just
a few years became one of Côte d'Ivoire's rap powerhouses. However, this success
