Jouko Harjanne
Jouko Harjanne, a Finnish trumpeter, was born on June 21, 1962, in Rauma. He
studied with Raimo Sarmas at the Conservatoire of Tampere and his solo debut
occurred on November 14, 1978, with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He
served as co-principal trumpeter with the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra from
1978 to 1984 and later became principal trumpeter with the Finnish Radio
Symphony Orchestra. Harjanne won second prize at the International Spring in
Prague Competition in 1987. He has premiered concertos by notable composers such
