A contemporary gospel singer from Minnesota, Jovonta Patton has topped the
Billboard charts six times. Born in Minneapolis on March 15, 1990, he began
singing in church at the age of four, and went on to lead a choir and perform at
local events. In 2006, he joined James Grear's Nu Friends Community Choir,
before setting up his own gospel/R&B choir, Deliverance for Youth, a year later,
made up of some twenty minor singers. After one album and several
