Juan Carlos Cobián
Juan Carlos Cobián, born on 31 May 1896 in Pigüé, Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a
pianist, composer, and lyricist of Argentine tango. His musical education at the
Williams Conservatory in Bahía Blanca under Numa Rossotti led to early
performances in Buenos Aires venues such as the Buckingham and the Montmartre
cabaret. In 1922, he joined and later led Osvaldo Fresedo’s sextet, producing
classics including "A pan y agua", "Shusheta", and "Niebla del Riachuelo".
