Junko Akimoto is a Japanese singer known for her work in kayōkyoku, jazz,
chanson, canzone, and min'yō. She was born on June 21, 1947, in Koto, Tokyo.
Even though she made her professional musical debut relatively late in her life,
Junko Akimoto took her first steps as a performer by singing in a Hawaiian band
while working for an oil company. Her first single, "Madison-gun no Koi," was
