Junko Akimoto is a Japanese singer known for her work in kayōkyoku, jazz,
chanson, canzone, and min'yō. She was born on June 21, 1947, in Koto, Tokyo.
Even though she made her professional musical debut relatively late in her life,
Junko Akimoto took her first steps as a performer by singing in a Hawaiian band
while working for an oil company. Her first single, "Madison-gun no Koi," was
released in 2005, followed by her debut album of the same name in 2006. She
quickly gained recognition for her versatile vocal style and her exploration of
