K-Salaam (born 1977 in Montreal) is a Canadian-born American producer,
turntablist, and educator of Iranian heritage. Raised in Minneapolis, he later
moved to New York City to launch a music career, gaining recognition with the
mixtapes The Hands of Time and Real DJs Do Real Things. He co-founded Beatnick &
K-Salaam Productions, releasing the 2006 debut album The World Is Ours
