Kaizers Orchestra
An alternative rock band from Bryne, Norway, Kaizers Orchestra was formed in
2000 by longtime friends Janove Ottesen and Geir Zahl. After signing with the
national label Broilerfarm, Kaizers Orchestra released its debut album, Ompa til
du dør, in September 2001. Ompa til du dør peaked at Number 1 on the VG Lista
chart and received the "Best Album Award" at Spellemannprisen, commonly known as
the Norwegian Grammy Awards. The highest-selling rock album to be recorded in
the Norwegian language, Ompa til du dør was followed by 2003's Evig pint. A
