Karel Štědrý, born Karel on 10 April 1937 in Prague, Czech Republic, was a
singer, actor, and presenter. He started his musical career as a teenager with
amateur bands, including one led by his brother Ivan Štědrý. In 1958, he met
Jiří Suchý and Jiří Šlitr, leading to his debut at the Theater Reduta and
founding membership of the Theater Semafor in 1959. His early singles included
"Červené Údolí / Kaňonem Takhle K Večeru" (1962) and "Taxikář / Přichází Večer K
