Karel Štědrý, born April 10, 1937, in Prague, was a Czech singer, actor, and
presenter. He started his musical career as a teenager with amateur bands,
including one led by his brother Ivan Štědrý. In 1958, he met Jiří Suchý and
Jiří Šlitr, leading to his debut at the Theater Reduta and a founding membership
of the Theater Semafor in 1959. His early collaborative songs included "Kaňonem
takhle k večeru" and "Takový je život". His career included roles in stage
