Karen Brooks
Karen Brooks is an American country music singer and songwriter born on April
30, 1954, in Dallas, Texas. She attended Justin F. Kimball High School and began
her career in the late 1970s as a background vocalist for artists including
Jerry Jeff Walker and Emmylou Harris. After moving to California to work with
Rodney Crowell, she signed with Warner Bros. Records and released her debut
album Walk On in 1982. Brooks achieved major success in February 1983 with the
