Katarína Knechtová, born March 14, 1981 in Prešov, Czechoslovakia, is a
singer-songwriter and guitarist. She began her musical journey by studying
keyboard for seven years and later taught herself to play the guitar.
Knechtová's career started with local band Prešovčatá before joining IMT Smile
in 1996. The following year, she moved to Peha, which was named the Discovery of
the Year in 1999. With Peha, she won the Aurel Award for Best Female Singer in
