Katsuhide Uekusa is a Japanese singer and actor. He was born on July 24, 1966, in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. He joined Johnny & Associates in 1980 and formed the group “Shōnentai” with Kazukiyo Nishikori and Noriyuki Higashiyama in 1982. After making his debut in December 1985 with the single “Masquerade Ball,” he won numerous “Best New Artist” awards, starting with the Best New Artist Award at the 28th Japan Record Awards the following year.
