The Christian rapper known as KB was born Kevin Elijah Burgess on July 21, 1988,
in St. Petersburg, Florida. After surviving a series of severe depressive
episodes and experimenting with drugs during his adolescence, he enrolled in
Bible college and founded the Christian rap group HGA (short for His Glory
Alone), through which he met fellow rapper Lecrae. KB's connection with Lecrae
allowed him to secure a record deal with Reach Records in 2010, which released
