Kenny Poole
Kenny Poole (October 5, 1947 – May 27, 2006) was an American jazz guitarist from
Cincinnati. Poole began playing guitar at age 14 after hearing the Chet Atkins
album Finger Style Guitar. Poole worked as a professional musician from 1966 and
performed in James Brown’s band from 1970 to 1974. Throughout a career focused
on Cincinnati local venues, Poole collaborated with artists including Jack
McDuff, Tal Farlow, Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, and Barney Kessel. Poole specialized
