Tariq Nasheed, who performs under the names Tariq Elite, King Flex, and K-Flex,
is an American musician and film producer who spent his youth in Birmingham,
Alabama. In 1991, he relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he began his
career as a rapper. In 2018, he debuted as the lead singer of the R&B group Mink
Slide. The group’s debut album, Egyptian Musk (2018), debuted at number 12 on
the Billboard R&B Albums chart. Beyond his music career, Nasheed produced the
Hidden Colors film series and co-produced the film Da Sweet Blood of Jesus
(2014) with director Spike Lee.
