Joseph Kim Mitchell was born on 10 July 1952 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, and
became a singer and guitarist. After playing in local bands, he co‑founded
Max Webster, where he served as lead vocalist and guitarist until the group
disbanded in 1982. Joseph Kim Mitchell’s solo debut arrived that same year with
the self‑titled EP Kim Mitchell, followed by the single "Miss Demeanor" in 1982.
His breakthrough came with the 1984 single "Go For Soda", which peaked at
