Born to Malaysian parents on May 23, 1994 in Australia, Kimberley Chen became a successful child model who appeared in television advertisements. At the age of nine she was cast as a model on an Australian version of the game show The Price Is Right. In 2005 she segued into a theatrical career, playing Young Nala in The Lion King, then played the role again one year later in a Shanghai production.
