Waverly Walter Alford III, known professionally as King Gordy, was born on
August 18, 1977, in Detroit, Michigan. He began his music career as a rapper in
the early 2000s, initially gaining traction in the local underground hip-hop
scene. In 2003, he released his debut solo album The Entity, which featured
production by Eminem and guest appearances from other notable rappers. King
Gordy also appeared in the film 8 Mile as a fictional rapper named "Big O." He
