Kirk Talley
Kirk Lewis Talley, born on June 9, 1958, in Johnson City, Tennessee, is an
American gospel performer and singer. He began performing in 1972 with his
brother Roger and sister-in-law Debra. Talley's career took off when he joined
the Cathedrals in 1979, where he wrote "Step Into the Water", which topped the
Southern Gospel chart for nine months. In 1983, he left to form the Talleys with
his brother and sister-in-law, writing "He Is Here" which won the 1991 Dove
Award for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year. Talley's solo career began
