Klaus Lage

Klaus Lage is a popular German singer who was born in Soltau in Lower Saxony in 1950. After moving to Berlin in the 1970s he became a teacher and then a social worker before joining the Berliner Rock Ensemble as a singer and guitarist. He was thirty years old when he released his self-titled debut album which was the start of a recording career spanning three decades. His distinctive 'leidermacher' style won him a large following during the 1980s especially after the release of his fourth album `Schweissperlen' in 1984.
