Craig Stephen Lawson, known professionally as KLC, was born on July 15, 1969, in
New Orleans, Louisiana, and is an American record producer, DJ, and drummer who
emerged from the Melpomene Projects of New Orleans. Lawson began his career in
the 1990s as part of Parkway Pumpin’ Records, later joining No Limit Records’
in‑house production team Beats by the Pound, where he contributed to the rise of
Southern hip‑hop. After departing No Limit, he has been a member of the Medicine
