Kobo Town is a Canadian Caribbean music group led by Trinidadian Canadian singer
Drew Gonsalves. The band blends calypso with various musical influences
including ska, reggae, and hip hop. Kobo Town released their debut album
Independence in 2006. Their second album, Jumbie In The Jukebox, was longlisted
for the Polaris Music Prize in 2013 and nominated for a Juno Award in 2014. Kobo
Town's third album release, Where the Galleon Sank (2017), won a Canadian Folk
Music Award for World Group of the Year and was named World Music Album of the
Year at the 2018 Juno Awards.
