La-Ong-Fong is a Thai pop band formed in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1996. The name of the band was derived from the French word “enfant”, meaning child, which was transliterated as “Ong-Fong”, with the prefix “La” added to sound Thai; this created a double meaning, with the Thai words “la-ong” and “fong” translating to drizzle and bubble. Influenced by Swedish pop, the group's history began with the meeting of Pongchuk Pissathanporn and Visa Attaseri at the Coke Duet Singing Contest in 1988.
