Maidel Amador Canales (born December 30, 1983), known as La Sista, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton and R&B singer-songwriter and producer from Loíza. La Sista began her musical career at age 14. At 19, she appeared on the television program La Casa Under, where she placed second. La Sista released her first song, “Ahora es que es”, in 2005 with Eddie Dee. Her debut solo album, Majestad negroide, followed in 2006 on Machete Music. La Sista collaborated with artists including Residente, Ñejo, Domingo Quiñones, Jerry Rivera, Andy Montañez, and Anaís.
