Lambchop was formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1986, emerging from the city’s
country scene and drawing on traditional musical influences while experimenting
with contemporary sounds. The group, composed of a rotating roster of musicians
led by vocalist and guitarist Randall “Randy” Thomason, began performing at
local venues and recording modest demos that circulated within the regional folk
circuit. Their early efforts culminated in a self‑released EP that attracted
