L'Arpeggiata, founded in 2000 by Austrian harpist, luthist and theorbo player
Christina Pluhar, assembled a multinational ensemble of vocal and instrumental
specialists to explore early music and traditional repertoire. The group’s debut
recordings appeared in 2002 with Landi: Homo Fugit Velut Umbra… and La
Tarantella – Antidotum Tarantulae, followed by All'Improviso – Ciaccone,
Bergamasche, & Un Po' Di Follie (2004), and Cavalieri: Rappresentatione di
Anima, et Di Corpo (2004), establishing its experimental approach. Subsequent
