Laila Darboe, known professionally as Layla, is a German rapper born in
Münster. Raised with Deutsch-Gambian roots, she began writing her own songs at
nine, influenced by her father's reggae DJ performances and her mother's gospel
singing. In 2019, Layla started sharing short song clips on Instagram, which
