Le Concert des Nations, an orchestra specializing in period instruments, was
founded in 1989 by Jordi Savall. Based in Spain, the ensemble initially formed
to perform Marc-Antoine Charpentier's Canticum ad Beatam Virginem Mariam (1989),
utilizing musicians primarily from Latin American countries and Europe. Their
repertoire spans from the Baroque to Romantic periods, approximately 1600 to
1850, with notable collaborations including La Capella Reial de Catalunya and
Hespèrion XXI, both directed by Savall. The orchestra released their debut album
