Lea Laven, born Lea Luukinen on June 19, 1948, in Haukipudas, Finland, is a
Finnish pop singer renowned for her distinctive dark, low voice. After working
in Sweden as a teenager, she launched her music career in 1966 when she
performed with the dance band Seitsemän seinähullua veljestä, adopting the stage
name Lea Laven. She achieved her breakthrough in 1974 with the hit "Tumma
nainen," followed by victory at the Syksyn sävel competition in 1979 with "Ei
