Ledward Kaapana, born on August 25, 1948 in Kalapana, Hawaii, is an American
musician known for his slack key guitar skills. Taught by his mother and uncle
Fred Punahoa, he formed the group Hui 'Ohana with his twin brother Nedward and
cousin Dennis Pavao in his teens, releasing fourteen albums together. Kaapana's
first solo album, Lima Wela, was released in 1983 and won the Na Hoku Hanohano
Award for "Instrumental Album of the Year" in 1984. He has since released
