Lesley Rae Dowling, a South African singer-songwriter from Stellenbosch, began
her career in 1980 when she was discovered by artist manager Paddy Lee Thorp.
She released her self-titled album in 1981. Her subsequent albums include
Unravished Brides (1982), Split (1983), Myths and Legends (1983), When the Night
Comes (1986), and Images (1989). Many of her works were produced and co-written
by Tully McCully. Dowling’s music garnered numerous South African awards,
