Li Bingbing is a Chinese actress and singer. Born in Wuchang, Heilongjiang,
China, on 27 February 1973, Li graduated from the music department of Jixi
Normal School and worked as an elementary school music teacher before enrolling
in the Shanghai Theatre Academy in 1993 to study acting. She made her acting
debut in 1994 and achieved critical acclaim for her role in the film Seventeen
Years in 1999, later winning Best Actress at the 46th Golden Horse Awards in
