Linda Purl, born September 2, 1955 in Greenwich, Connecticut, is an American
actress and singer. She began her acting career at age five while living in
Japan, performing in several plays including The King and I and Oliver!. After
returning to the United States, Purl's first major movie role was in Jonathan
Demme's 1975 comedy Crazy Mama. In addition to her extensive filmography, she is
known for her roles on television series such as Happy Days, Matlock, and The
Office.
