Los Indios Tabajaras, a guitar duo consisting of brothers Antenor Lima and
Natalicio (Nato) Lima, originated from Tianguá, Ceará in Northeast Brazil. The
group adopted their name from the indigenous Tabajara people who inhabited the
region during Portuguese colonisation. They gained initial success in Rio de
Janeiro performing as Natalicio Lima and Antenor Lima while dressed in
ceremonial costumes. In 1943, RCA's Latin American division signed them to a
