A native of Long Island, New York, where she was born on March 18, 1981, Laura
Pergolizzi moved to the Big Apple right after finishing school, with the
ambition of breaking into the music world using her initials as her stage name.
While performing at numerous clubs, she met David Lowery, a member of the
alternative rock band Cracker, who immediately invited her to contribute to his
album Gentleman’s Blues (1998) on the track “Cinderella”. At the same time, he
offered to produce her debut album, Heart-Shared Scar (2001). Her next album,
