Lu Watters & the Yerba Buena Jazz Band
Lu Watters and The Yerba Buena Jazz Band was an American traditional jazz
revival band founded in 1940 by cornetist Lu Watters. Based in San Francisco,
California, the group began performing at Sweet's Ballroom in Oakland before
officially forming under the name Yerba Buena Jazz Band in 1939. They gained
significant traction at the Dawn Club in San Francisco, where they revived the
