Luísa Vilar Braamcamp Sobral, known as Luísa Sobral, was born on September 18,
1987, in Lisbon, Portugal. She is a singer and songwriter who gained prominence
at the age of 16 when she finished third in the first season of Ídolos, the
Portuguese version of Idols. After taking a hiatus to study music at Berklee
College of Music in Boston, Sobral returned to the music industry with her debut
album, The Cherry on My Cake, released in 2011. Her subsequent albums include
