French Canadian chanteuse Lynda Lemay was born on July 25, 1966 in Quebec. A precocious songwriter who began honing her skills as a child, she won the prestigious Granby Song Contest in 1989 with “La Veilleuse”. Her attention to the details of everyday life in her lyrics helped build a loyal and large following in her home country with 1991’s Nos Reves and especially 1994’s Y, which became a big seller.
