M.I.A.
M.I.A. was a punk rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 1980 by Todd
Sampson, Mike Conley, and Chris Moon, with guitarist Nick Adams joining shortly
thereafter. Their breakthrough came with the split LP Last Rites for Genocide
(1982) through BOMP, featuring the track "New Left" that appeared on the Not So
Quiet on the Western Front compilation. The band signed with Alternative
Tentacles in 1984 and released Murder in a Foreign Place (1984), followed by
Notes from the Underground (1985) on National Trust and After the Fact (1987) on
