Manuel Licea Lamouth, known as Puntillita, was born on December 4, 1927, in
Holguín, Cuba, and was a Cuban traditional music singer. He first emerged with
the Hermanos Licea ensemble in the 1940s and later joined Orquesta Escorcia and
Orquesta Tentación, earning the nickname from his performance of "Son de la
Puntillita". In the 1950s, he achieved recognition as a soloist on Radio Cadena
Habana and performed alongside Celia Cruz and Benny Moré in Mexico City. In the
