The influential Peruvian alternative rock band Mar de Copas was formed in 1992
in Lima by Manuel Barrios (guitar and vocals) and Eduardo Leverone (drums), both
of whom had previously played together in a group called Los Inocentes. Under
the name As de Copas, they produced their eponymous studio debut, which included
notable tracks "Fugitivo" and "Canción." By 1993, they had finished writing 12
songs, changed the band's name to Mar de Copas, and signed a contract with El
