Margarita Laso
Margarita Laso, born 20 July 1963 in Quito, Ecuador, is an Ecuadorian singer,
writer and producer who championed Ecuadorian traditional music. After learning
piano and guitar from childhood and studying voice under Blanca Hauser, she
debuted as a soloist in 1989 and quickly entered the recording studio, releasing
her album Luna desnuda in 1992. Her catalog expanded with Cómo Me Gustas (1999),
El Canelazo (2005), and Fiesta en Navidad (2009).
